The floor storage box (yukashitashuunou) is in! This is a built-in cool storage box that is installed between the floor joists. It is exposed to the unheated crawlspace between the floor and the foundation. It is used for storage of items that need to be kept cool, or at a constant temperature. It is great for potatoes as well as home made liqueurs. The lid lifts off for easy access. The bottom also lifts out for cleaning and access to the crawl space. We put this in the floor of the pantry. (Note: The paper taped to the floors is protective paper designed to protect the new floor while the final installation of appliances and electrical work is done.)
